we organise sport and artistic activities during the entire academic year.
Promoting Citizenship in our school
We are particularly proud of the high level of interaction that exists between our school and the wider community. Whenever possible, we strive to support community events and we foster a high level of community involvement. It is through these initiatives that we foster a sense of “pride of place” in the locality.
Our annual GRANDPARENTS DAY is one of the highlights of the school year. This is hosted by our sixth class children.
We support local art competitions organized by WESTPORT CREDIT UNION and the Chamber of Commerce.
On many occasions our pupils have been among the prizewinners in the local CREDIT UNION QUIZ.
Our school choir has performed locally at many events and hosts a carol service and concert each Christmas.
We visit the CUSTOM HOUSE STUDIO regularly and this allows us to view the work of local artists.
The HISTORICAL WALK OF WESTPORT is always a favourite with the children.
Whenever possible, we organise our school tours to support local business. We endeavour to buy our school resources locally.
We invite a wide variety of guest speakers to visit the school and share their experiences with the pupils.
VISITING THEATRE GROUPS are always particularly welcome and we support the theatrical performances of local secondary schools.
Every CHRISTMAS, we raise money for the Westport branch of ST VINCENT DE PAUL.
